All Info and Services
University libraries (BU) are places of documentation and study, but also places of life on campus. You will find workspaces, group work rooms, but also spaces dedicated to relaxation.
Many services are available online, on the BU website.
From October to May, the university libraries are open from 8.45am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday and from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays (for Sundays, see the calendar). Please note: Only half of the reading rooms are open in the evening and on Sundays.
From June to September, the opening hours change: find out more on each library's website.
Once you have registered in one of the university libraries, you can borrow an unlimited number of documents (books, magazines, DVDs, etc.) for 30 days, with the possibility of renewing once.
The libraries also offer small equipment that can be borrowed.
The Library Search Engine: Supernova
Supernova is the search engine for the university library collections, whether printed (on the shelves) or online.
You will find books and journals from the libraries of the University of Rennes, Sciences Po Rennes and INSA Rennes.
Supernova also offers direct access, in full text, to a large number of journal articles, ebooks and chapters of ebooks that can be consulted online.
Online Documentary Resources
Another way of accessing online documentation is through the list of online resources. Clicking on a resource takes you to its detailed page, with the access link and a description of the resource, sometimes with a video tutorial.
"Revues en ligne et ebooks" is a list of journals and ebooks available directly online at the University of Rennes. While Supernova will allow you to efficiently find an article or an ebook chapter, "Revues en ligne et ebooks" is a search engine that targets the titles of online journals and ebooks available at the University of Rennes. If you have not found the title you are looking for in Supernova, try searching again in "Revues en ligne et ebooks"!
